FAMILY AND SYSTEMIC CONSTELLATIONS

The German Bert Hellinger (1925–2019), founder
of Family Constellations (Familienstellen),
was a philosopher, theologian, educator, group dynamics trainer, and psychoanalyst. He worked for 16 years
as a missionary for a Catholic order among the Zulus
in South Africa, where he was deeply involved
with the influence of group dynamics. Later, he became
a psychoanalyst and completed various trainings
in Primal Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
He began his research on the phenomenon of representation in 1978
and discovered the fundamental orders of life, which he called the “Orders of Love.”
Over the years, he developed his own therapeutic method,
which he named Family Constellation (Familienstellen).
Today, this approach is known worldwide and is used in various fields
such as psychotherapy, organizational and business consulting, education,
medicine, justice, life counseling, and life assistance in the broadest sense.
What are Family or Systemic Constellations?
They are a path of expanded consciousness, transformation, liberation,
reconciliation, integration, harmony, compassion, and love.
Generational traumas, beliefs, and imbalances within a family system
are passed down from generation to generation, consciously or unconsciously.
Family Constellations help us see, understand, and transform
behavioral patterns and blocks, not only within the family nucleus
but also in all areas of life.
The constellation field accesses the unconscious of the person working on an issue,
their perception, and also the unconscious of their family system.
By connecting with deeper levels of being (the unconscious and the Soul),
a path opens for deeper awareness, understanding of the root causes
of problems, and natural transformation, reconnecting us to the flow of life and love.
Even when there are many layers to transform around a single topic,
or multiple topics to work through, a sense of peace and wholeness
is the result of the healing process in constellations.
It is a path of liberation and harmony.
What can be addressed with this therapeutic approach?
This method can be used to address: relationship problems (all relational dynamics, whether family-related or not); developmental traumas or traumatic life experiences; illnesses with physical, emotional, or psychological symptoms;
difficulties in any area of life; addictions; negative psychological, emotional,
or behavioral patterns; any issue that creates a block in the flow of life
or personal/systemic well-being.
How to do a Constellation?
Constellation work can be done individually or in groups.
Sessions can be online or in person.
The client presents a topic to be worked on, without needing to share many details
or expose themselves too much, as the “Constellation Field” will reveal what needs
to be seen, the dynamics involved, and what can (and how it can) be transformed.
It is deep work, in which the body and soul of the person bringing the issue,
show the path toward rebalancing and reconnection with the flow of life.
Some quotes by Bert Hellinger…
“Love is therapy. In the world, there is no other treatment but love.
It is always love that heals, because love makes you whole.
Disorder is created by the absence of love.”
“Healing follows the same path as illness:
It begins within and moves through the body.”
“Every traumatic event in the life of a family, community, or nation
remains in its morphogenetic field until it is acknowledged and, ideally,
embraced by the souls of those people in a new way.
We need to look at it consciously, recognize, give thanks, and honor
those events and those people so that life can move forwardthrough reconciliation.”
“Behind me are all my ancestors giving me strength.
Life passed through them until it reached me.
And in honor of them, I will live it fully.”
Bert Hellinger
